Well I did it, I did it. I made this a few weeks ago but just couldn't get the photography right as it's been grey and gloomy here a lot lately with winter settling in for the next 3 months. From my post HERE sharing DIY crafts that I want to attempt and while I am not loving the result, I'm also not hating it either. When I was getting it ready, I really wasn't sure on the colours. I was going to try and just go black and white, like the one Elise made, that way it would suit anything. I want to makeover my kitchen some time soon. HOW? Not sure, I change my mind DAILY. I do know that I do not like it the way it is now. It's more so the blue cupboards. Will do a blog post soon sharing and 'hey' maybe one of you might have some ideas. I used the tutorial by Rachel HERE and while mine looks nothing like her amazing one, it's a start.
Was it easy? No but yes. How does that work? I re-did mine at least 4 times. I even went and removed some colours to add the cream as it needed something to break it up a little. I couldn't stop the tension that I had pulling it in. ONE big thing I wish I had of known and not almost at the end. A large needle works SO much easier and made weaving so much quicker. Also do NOT do when watching sport, haha, was a little tight while I was watching the footy, first loss of the season for Geelong.
[colours are appearing darker than they actually are]
COSTS AND SUPPLIES : Wool I already had at home, but they retail for around $4-$12 each. The loom I made myself. It was pulled apart from our built in desk, that is now being made into a storage unit YAY, big house, no storage? I bought a bunch of nails for $2 from a cheap shop. I bought the string also from the same cheap shop for $2. And the 'rod I guess you would call it? Was from a wooden coat hanger that had fallen apart and one that had been moving around in my bedroom for a while that I kept meaning to throw out, phew I say, as it was perfect. So really if you have most of the things at home, this really is a cheap and easy DIY decor. Make more, and use them as gifts.
Wow this looks very cool!!

You've taken me back to when I was a kid - these things were all the rage! Love the colours.
