gossamer blue | last post

Before I share this layout I created for Gossamer Blue, after June I will no longer be on the Gossamer Blue design team, so this is my last blog post as part of the team.  The June kits are all amazing from Gossamer Blue, but my favourite would have to be the main scrapbooking kit.  It's not often I can pick a favourite, but the reasoning was mainly because of the pattern paper by Simple Stories.  I think you might know from previous posts her on the Gossamer Bue blog by myself, that I have a thing for circles and especially when it's a pattern on a paper line. 

I grabbed a favourite photo of mine from the Summer just gone as we are now in Winter here in Australia.  Black and white is sometimes the best way to go when you work with a lot of colour.  For this layout I most certainly did work with colour.  I also added in some stickers from Kellie Stamps that I'm looking to re-stock soon.

I got all the embellishments from the Gossamer Blue, June kit and went about filling the circles on the pattern paper with enamel dots, acrylic, alphas, stickers and more from the kit.  In the end I had to stop myself from over embellishing, haha.  But I loved the result.  Best of all I still have so much left over to make even more layouts to document those special moments in life.

I created this layout using the February main add on kit from Gossamer Blue.  When I opened the kits and seen the floral pattern paper I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, something I hadn't done in a long time.  I'm more of a quick works best when it comes to doing layouts.  But I wanted to cut out the floral designs.  At first I cut a WHOLE bunch and had them all over my page, but my photo was lost.  I needed that even balance of floral and white and this was the result.

I even cranked out some mounting tape that I'd been hoarding for years and often went to throw it out when I'd have a clean up of my craftroom, but always held onto it, boy am I glad I did!  The mixture of navy with the reds, tan and green/blue was a great contrast and made my black and white photo of my daughter and I, well our feet stand out.  Not usually one for navy on my crafts, I absolutely love it on this layout and kit.

I love that it was only ONE bit of pattern paper used on this layout with stickers and text, yet I feel it looks like so much more.

I made this layout using the Life Pages Kit, here.  I absolutely love taking this kit and using it for making layouts, because of the layout size I do, 6x8 the products are always perfect.  With the amount of pocket page cards and embellishments you truly have enough to document not just one week but you could do a whole month.

gossamer blue | february | here and now

How can we be in February already?  This happens every year, next thing it will be Heidi's birthday and that's in March and I'll be wondering where the first part of the year went....  Regardless on that, it's release time at Gossamer Blue, YES!  This kits are listed in store, here.  I'm sharing a layout I created using the Add on kit #2, here.  I love that I got back into scrapbooking last year and love even more the size that a friend of mine, Emma, got me into, 6x8 that I'm addicted to.  Project life is amazing and I really like doing an album on myself, but there is something about taking your favourite photos and making them center of attention while working with pretty papers.

This kit may be an add on and smaller than the main kit, but it's still jam packed full and I aim to see just how many things I can make with the one add on kit.  Stay tuned [haha], for more on this add on kit.  For now check out all the February releases, here.

Tags are an amazing thing, and they are not just for gifts.  When I seen the set of tags from Fancy Pants in the Gossamer Blue, January Bits and Pieces 2016 kit, I knew right away I wanted to try my hand at adding as MANY as I could to a layout and lucky for me I do 6x8.  After a lot of re-arranging and moving them all about I managed to find the way I wanted them.  So came this layout :

Mixed in with a few bits from the main kit from January.  I've thought to go back and add journaling, but I'll just see.  I love that I got to document these photos of Kira and I from a day well spent together shopping, and using the awesome January releases from Gossamer Blue.

New Year, new blog hop time for Gossamer Blue.  I love this time of month when the creative team come together to share the latest and greatest from this months release at Gossamer Blue.

Today I'm sharing a layout using the main kit release for January, here.  I personally thought I would struggle with this kit, with all the hearts and glitter, as I'm not much of a bling, bling person but I was wrong and once I got started I couldn't stop and made 6 layouts with the ONE kit, yes the ONE kit!  How awesome is that, enough to make not 3 but double that and honestly I could still make more or at least cards, use in my pocket pages or planner.  More on that soon, today I'm sharing a photo of my girls on Christmas day jumping for JOY!

#pocketpagethursday | project life 2016 | week #1

Jessica from Color Cast Designs and I were chatting as we do so often, but the subject was about project life and our plans to stay on top or at least up to date for 2016 and how could we motivate one another for this?  With my 2015 being all over the place and a bit of a wash, we talked about sharing our pages on the same day each week.  Surely it can be done right?  It's the motivation to keep us in line and sharing, that's the plans anyways, haha.  So came #pocketpagethursday.  I'm sharing my week one for 2016 in the books.  One thing that didn't work out was the typewriter.  It smudged the cards and although I almost threw them out the window in frustration, I printed the journaling and while not happy with the result, lesson learnt, new typewriter needed.

Gossamer Blue have released their January kits and if you like text, script, black and white, yellow, pink, grey, teal and more, then you are absolutely going to love this months release.  Thought about joining a kit for 2016?  Then Gossamer Blue is for you.

Have I mentioned I love my instax camera?  Yes I have a picture mate and it's also an instant printer but there is just something about the instax photos that I love using to scrap.  My teenager and I went shopping on boxing day and as always Kira is used to my request for a view from where 'we' stood photo.

Blog hop time for Gossamer Blue, one of my favourite things to look forward to for the month, besides when the new kits arrive, which always feels like Christmas and even my younger two get super excited to see what's inside the parcel.

The December kits were awesome, and I loved them all once again.  This time instead of sharing a layout with you all like I normally would, I'm sharing a month from my project 'my' life.  An album that is for me, about me.  I love working on this album because it's where all my 101 coffee photos go, silly selfies I send to friends and just things from my everyday that don't need to be included into the family album.  The December life pages kit is jam packed, here.  It's what I've used to document my month of September.

jot mood board for november

 

Pink and Yellows for the Jot Mood Board Challenge I knew this one I had to try.  I mean I have 3 girls, you'd think it was a given.  The funny thing is that once you add the word challenge it's almost like I can't get it to come together?  Weird I know.  I sat and tried to get my layout to work and then while skyping with another crafter it all came together, talking it out helped and this was the result :

I used a bunch of left overs from my Gossamer Blue kits and mixed in with the black and white instax I love how it came out.  I'm still tossing up about adding journaling or not, but can always go back.

I've wanted to do something with this photo for some time now scrapbook wise.  This photo was taken for either a failed attempt of day in the life or week in the life, either way trumps for failing at both right, haha, kidding.  I printed the photo in black and white on my instax printer that I am officially addicted to using, can you tell?  With the change of layout size to 6x8 I find the instax to be the perfect size for my liking.  Using mainly gold, black, white and pink this is the layout I came up with :

I also love the rub ons from Amy Tangerine's Finders Keepers collection.  It's funny because I really loved the collection when I seen it but didn't think it was my style.  But I can't stop using it all and love it.  I think that's the best thing about receiving a kit, it can make you use things you wouldn't think to use.  You can sign up for the Gossamer Blue kit, here.

Today I'm sharing a layout that I created using the November main kit from Gossamer Blue, here.  When I went and stayed with a crafty friend of mine a few weeks back, Emma, she'd made homemade donuts, YES homemade donuts.  That were amazing and had the best toppings!  Emma sent me home with some for my girls and I'm pretty sure the container was empty within 30 minutes of being home.  Of course it had to be documented, right?  So here is the layout based on donuts...

I think the alphas from Finders Keepers by Amy Tangerine, are my favourite this year.  Honestly they aren't really my colours, but Lori matched them so well in the kit that I can't get enough of them.  Mixing it up with Amy Tangerines new release and Elle's Studio.

gossamer blue layout : pippa : november

It's release day over at Gossamer Blue and today I'm sharing one of the many layouts I got to make using the main kit.  I loved this kit and to be honest with you when I first saw it I thought I would struggle, but once I got into it, I loved it.

I've found a new love for the 6x8 size and am currently addicted to creating in this size.
