2020 was a very different year and not just for my family, for everyone.   One big difference I had is my eldest, Kira, moved away to another state in early January and then couldn't return home for a visit and still yet to make it home, so with the lack of photos of her, I decided to just accept it for what it is.  I'm hoping that 2021 I'll have a bunch of went to visit or her coming home photos during the year of documenting 2021 and will be making up for it!

For 2020 Christmas I decided it would be fun to all go to my family dinner in matching outfits, Wyborn included.  I'd gotten Kira one with the hope, but alas not this year.  I could only get them in pink in all the sizes needed...  I thought this would be a hard sell to hubby, but he was right on board, as it was all for a bit of family fun.  So I thought it would make for a really fun cover to all be wearing the shirts and I was SO right.

project life 2020 | week #13

Week 13 in the family album of course mainly contains our new little man, Wybie, because that was always going to happen.⁠  The world is still in isolation and because the girls would usually be on school holidays I've not noticed it as much just yet.  What I do notice is that our street is not very busy in general, but now it's rare to see a car go by.  I even crave doing a food shop, which I usually dread and beg one of the girls to come with me.  Now even they want to come to get out and maybe see people.  It's all for the greater good.

Week 12 in the family album was all about the arrival of Wyborn 'Willy" Winnell. With photos of my girls and not just pets this week, shock horror, haha.  It was school photo day so they were both up for it.  God they are growing so fast.

Week 11 in the family album was mainly focused on the yard work that Luke, Chloe and I completed on the Monday as it was a public holiday and the sunshine was amazing.

Week 10 in the family album actually features the humans that live in the house and not the pets!  Look out, haha!  Photos with my girls before going out to celebrate Heidi's birthday with a lunch at the railway hotel with family and her friend Steph.

Welp I was going to have this blog on the down low with only really sharing my freebies with using instagram as pretty much a blog format.  But with everything going on right now, I'm starting to think it wouldn't be a bad idea to start it back up again and to do so I've back dated some creative projects and decided to share weeks 1-9 of the family album in the one blog post to make it slightly easier.  So here we go, week 1 - 9 looked like this for us Winnell's.

WEEK TWO :
Week 2 for 2020 and I was out of here! Off on my yearly holiday where I spend a week with my bestie.⁠  It was all about selfies, laughter and FOOD. You don't even want to know how much we spent on food, wow, WORTH it!⁠

WEEK THREE :
Week 3 in the family album was wrapping up my time with Kristy and returning home. Only to float over Melbourne for an hour, get diverted to Adelaide, wait another hour, go back to Melbourne, hover yet again for an hour and finally land around 9pm.⁠  I kept this week SUPER simple. My plans for 2020 family album.⁠

Week 4 in the family album was all about celebrating Australia day with friends. An on going tradition. I nailed the platter this year and was a hit.⁠

WEEK FIVE :
Week 5 in the family album was mainly about my girls going back to school.  I used a bunch of @cocoa_daisy diecuts from the February travelers notebook kit. You truly get so much goodness in the one kit and can be used for anything you like!

Week 6 in the family album was all about getting in and starting on the much neglected back yard and cleaning out every cardboard I could within a week.  Also of course I've included my two shadows, Pippa and Valerie.⁠

Week 7 in the family album was a big one with a lot of yard work still being done and starting to see the light and have it finally set out how we want it after living here for so many years now.⁠  It also saw my eldest sharing her love for the younger two now that she no longer lives here. I mean in her own sisterly loving way, haha.⁠

WEEK NINE :

Week 9 in the family album is smaller. I decided that if I didn't have photos and stories to fill a full spread then I would only do the one and not two and make it work.⁠  Lucky for me it worked out week 8 was also lacking photos and together it looks like a full weeks spread.⁠  I used the February kits from @cocoa_daisy and they worked in perfectly for all the photos of my cat, Valerie for this week.⁠

My way of saying goodbye to the end of the family 2019 album is a some what reflection of the year. See ya 2019, it's been real.

Week 52 CRAZY, it's crazy to think this is the last week from 2019.... I do have one more spread to share before I close this album that'll be sharing soon. But wow what a year of ups and downs, growth, new beginnings and adventure. I have no idea of what 2020 has installed for us Winnell's, but I look forward to finding out. This is the last weekly spread for our family in the 2019 family album.⁠

Week 50 was another busy week leading up to Christmas. Here there and a first trip to Costco for me.⁠ I've kept this week SUPER simple, no stamping, embellishments, nothing. I felt the photo and colours just popped together and I didn't want to take anything away from that.⁠

Wont lie it was a little tricky, again this year with the smaller size.  Mainly because last year I did a photo of Kira and I together and Heidi and Chloe together and then Pippa and Valerie on their own, because god knows they wont be together, haha.  After going over my photos Kira and I had only taken maybe 3 selfies together for 2019 and I had a lot of the girls, but on their own.  So I made do with what I had and made it work with more photos than I usually work with.  I'm actually loving the result.

Week 49 was B.U.S.Y for my girls and their activities and then I headed to my sisters over the weekend for our traditional catch up.  So I've done one insert of 6x8 and another insert of 3x8 to fit in all the stories from mainly the weekend.

project life covers | looking back

I'm so glad I decided and kept doing these style of covers when I started in 2016, yet went back and redone almost all previous covers.  It's funny, I've been doing project life since 2012 and the cover always got me stumped and I didn't feel I could start until it was done and it left me to feel uninspired.  Which doesn't help to the start of the project right?  This style is super simple and looking at them now and seeing my girls growth, awwww.... stop I'm not crying, you're crying.  When I went with 6x8 for this year and got time to do the cover I thought, oh crap, can I make it work and I did.  Bring on 2020 for new adventure and more memory keeping for my family album.

I even started as of 2018 doing it for the 9x12 album I do on me, the project 'my' life album and now I think about it, I should go back and do previous years, as I don't think I really ever did much of a cover.  Something to look into and think about.

project plans for 2020

Today I'm sharing my project plans for 2020. I did a little tossing up between doing a family project life album and not doing one and I just couldn't not do one.  I've been doing it since around 2013 and it just wouldn't feel right. 

My projects line up for 2020 is :

• happy gratitude journal planner
• pocket page notebook or 4x4 album - currents for month
• citrus twist album - 52 favourites
• project life family album 2020
• 4x4 album to maybe be used for currents
• happy memory planner

Not pictured is the 9x12 album I'll be suing for project my life, an album all about me.

Happy Gratitude Journal : I started this later in 2019 and love the process.  Although the journal is intended for daily use, I do it weekly.

Pocket Page Notebook OR 4x4 Mini Album : I used this to do my currents for the month.  It was a small side project that I really enjoyed creating and plan to do for 2020.  I'm unsure if I'll be using a pocket page notebook or the 4x4 album I've been hoarding for some time now.

Citrus Twist Album : I'll be TRYING to take part in the 52 favourites again this year.  I did start this project in 2018 and then flopped after week 14.  So here is to getting past that, haha!  Want to know more about this project?  Paper Issues hosted this sort of challenge.  In a nutshell it's to document one favourite photo or moment from each week for the year of 2020.

Project Life Album 2020 : I tossed up on if I would continue to do a family album for 2020.  I've mentioned SO many times, my girls are getting older and less involved and more blossoming into their own, aka off with friends.  Kira moving to another state.  BUT I decided to stick with it.  Memories and stories are always worth telling.

Happy Memory Planner : I started this project again after dropping it in 2017.  I'm so happy I started it again in 2019 and can't wait to continue the project in 2020.
