This weekend we welcomed, Wyborn "Willy" Winnell @wyborn_the_sausage_dog into our family. Wybie for short. If you've watched the movie Coraline, you'll pick up the name instantly. It's a family favourite in our family, minus hubby, haha.
He's a miniature chocolate dapple dachshund.
Having a dachie was a goal for 2020. With everything going on in the world right now, he couldn't arrived at a better time in our lives.
When hub and I spoke about getting a new puppy in 2019 he was hesitant and then when I mentioned a dachshund he wasn't overly sold on the idea, but was open to it. I made him a deal, to save for him I wouldn't buy any craft supplies for a FULL year! I think he thought it was a safe bet and so he agreed, haha!
Then I started thinking of other ideas to save and so came the idea to start selling on ebay and facebook market place, [man are there some time wasters on there, my god]. I've now sold many of the girls old toys that we'd been holding onto. I mean SO many monster high dolls, it was a real eye opener. Once I started, I couldn't stop, books, wii games, toys, clothes. It's been SO freeing to pass on so many things. Giving them new life and freeing ours. Through doing so I was able to save or my Wyborn and I had an amazing breeder allowing me the time it took.
On Friday afternoon Wyborn got on a plane from Newcastle to Melbourne and the moment I saw him I just knew. It's been a process already. Remembering what having a pup is like, the nipping and the getting up every few hours for toilet stops. My cat is now refusing to talk with me... So there is that. But I'm sure given time she'll come around.
That is the story of my little man, Wyborn Willy Winnell.
